Accept an invite and create a password

Use your invite link to join the account, create your password (if prompted), and fix common problems like expired or already-used links.

Accept an invite and create a password

Use this when you received an invite link and need to set up (or finish setting up) your login.

Keep your invite link private. Anyone with the link can try to accept it for that email.

Task index

  • Accept an invite (first-time setup)
  • Create your password (when prompted)
  • Fix an expired or already-used invite link

Accept an invite (first-time setup)

When to use this

  • An office/admin user sent you an invite link to join the account.
  • You click the invite link and see an “Accept invite” screen.

What you need first

  • The invite link.
  • The email address the invite was sent to.

Steps

1. Open the invite link. 2. If you see password fields:

3. Choose Accept invite. 4. After it confirms success, go to the login screen. 5. Log in with:

  • Enter a password (at least 8 characters).
  • Re-enter it to confirm.
  • Your email address
  • The password you just created (if you were asked to create one)

What happens next

  • Your invite is marked as used.
  • You can sign in and access features based on the role you were given.

If it goes wrong

  • If you weren’t prompted to create a password, that usually means your email already had a password set up. Accept the invite, then log in normally.
  • If you see “Invite expired” or “Invite already accepted”, use the fixes below.

When to use this

  • The invite page says “Invite expired” (or “Invite is invalid or expired”).

Steps

1. Contact your office/admin and ask them to send you a new invite. 2. Use the newest link you receive (older links won’t work).

What happens next

  • New invite links are valid for 7 days.

Fix “Invite already accepted”

When to use this

  • The invite page says “Invite already accepted”.

What it means

The invite was already used for that email. You don’t need to accept it again.

Steps

1. Go to the login screen. 2. Try logging in with the invited email address. 3. If you don’t know your password, choose Forgot password? and follow the reset steps.

Failure and recovery matrix

| Problem you see | What it means | Immediate fix steps | When to escalate | |---|---|---|---| | “Invalid invite link” | The link is missing information or was copied incorrectly. | Ask the office/admin to resend the invite link and copy it again carefully. | Escalate if multiple people’s invites look broken. | | “Invite is invalid or expired” / “Invite expired” | The link is older than 7 days. | Ask the office/admin for a new invite. Use the newest link. | Escalate if invites keep expiring before you can use them. | | “Invite already accepted” | The invite was used already. | Log in instead. Use Forgot password? if needed. | Escalate if you think someone else accepted your invite. | | No password fields appear | Your email likely already has a password set. | Accept the invite, then log in normally. | Escalate if you can’t log in after accepting. | | “Passwords do not match” | The two password entries are different. | Re-enter both password fields carefully. | Escalate only if the form won’t accept matching passwords. | | “Password must be at least 8 characters long” | Your password is too short. | Use 8+ characters and try again. | Escalate only if the form rejects a valid password. |
