Understand why an invite expired
Exact failure state
You open an invite link and the page says the invite is invalid or expired.
What it means
The invite link is no longer usable. The system will not let you accept an expired link, even if the account still wants you to join.
Immediate fix
1. Stop using the old link. 2. Ask the office or admin user to send you a new invite. 3. Open only the newest invite link you receive. 4. Finish [Accept an invite and create a password](accept-an-invite-and-create-a-password.md) using the new link.
When to escalate
- Escalate if new invites also fail straight away.
- Escalate if you are sure the invite is new but the page still says it is invalid or expired.
