Getting started in the office
When to use this
Use this when onboarding a new office user or when you need the shortest path into dispatch, scheduling, employee access, and user setup.
What you need first
- A working login
- Office or admin permission for the tasks you need to perform
Steps
1. Use [Manage your sign-in](../../../account/office/access/manage-your-sign-in.md) if you need to switch accounts or confirm access. 2. Use [Choose the right module for the job](./choose-the-right-module-for-the-job.md) if you are not sure where the task belongs. 3. Use [Understand work vs scheduling vs HR vs settings](./understand-work-vs-scheduling-vs-hr-vs-settings.md) before changing records across module boundaries. 4. Use [Manage work and dispatch jobs](../../../work/office/dispatch/manage-work-and-dispatch-jobs.md) for day-to-day execution work. 5. Use [Manage the day plan](../../../scheduling/office/daily-plan/manage-the-day-plan.md) for teams, daily changes, and publishing updates. 6. Use [Manage employees and access](../../../hr/office/employees/manage-employees-and-access.md) for employee records. 7. Use [Manage users and invites](../../../settings/office/users/manage-users-and-invites.md) for logins, roles, and invite recovery.
What happens next
- These links cover the main Wave 1 office tasks without relying on the older Help Center structure.
- Access depends on both the user’s seat and the account modules that are enabled.
If it goes wrong
- If you cannot open a settings task, ask an admin to confirm your access.
- If a field user cannot sign in or see work, start from the HR and Settings guides above rather than creating duplicate records.
