Choose the right module for the job
When to use this
Use this when you are new to the office workspace or when you are not sure which module should own the change you need to make.
What you need first
- You are signed in to the correct account.
- You know the real-world outcome you are trying to change.
Steps
1. Use Jobs / Workbench when you are changing the job record itself. 2. Use Scheduler or Team builder when you are changing future plans, crews, or day assignments. 3. Use HR when you are changing employee records or certifications. 4. Use CRM when you are changing companies, contacts, or site locations. 5. Use Settings when you are changing user access, invites, roles, seats, or your own profile. 6. Use Assets when you are changing asset records, maintenance, or pre-start related asset work. 7. Use Safety when you are working with forms, training, or safety documents.
What happens next
- You are less likely to create duplicate records or fix the wrong problem in the wrong module.
- Office work stays cleaner because job execution, planning, people records, and user access remain separated.
If it goes wrong
- If you are changing a login, role, or invite and you are in HR, stop and move to Settings.
- If you are changing future scheduling and you are in the job record, stop and move to Scheduler or Team builder.
- If you are changing the employee profile to solve a sign-in problem, stop and confirm whether the real task belongs in Settings instead.
