Start travel to a job
When to use this
Use this when you are leaving for site and want to record travel separately from on-site work.
What you need first
- You can open the job in My Work.
- The job is assigned to your team.
Steps
1. Open the job. 2. Choose the field action button to open the travel/start flow. 3. Review the warnings for safety forms, asset pre-starts, and permits. 4. Choose Start Travel.
What happens next
- Travel timing starts without starting the on-site job yet.
- Safety forms and pre-starts are warnings in this flow, not hard blockers.
- If travel is already running, the start flow changes to show that travel has already started.
If it goes wrong
- If the system says the job is allocated to another team, stop and ask dispatch to reassign it before you travel.
- If you started travel by mistake, use [Cancel travel before arrival](./cancel-travel-before-arrival.md) before starting the on-site job.
